Lecture a career in the roller coaster.

From All-Star team in the Bundesliga, Captain at VfL Gummersbach to be thrown out from the national team. From last in the Bundesliga to No. 1 in Spain. From participating in the European Cup finals with the club, to the failure of the national team. From captain in the club, to been thrown out 3 matches before the season ended. The contrasts have been huge.

A senior career with 25 different coaches, mind you, without assistants, bankruptcies, club change, mass brawl on the pitch, and punishment training sessions, are just some of the things I have seen in a very different everyday life.

My professional life has featured many interesting experiences, describing a life which is not always rosy. Intrigue, ego players, tongue pace and direction have been challenges, I had to deal with.

But there will also be curious stories as the car hire agency picked up all our vehicles during a workout, because the club was close to bankruptcy. A world class player, who got a slap in the face during training, or when a coach would throw me out of the club because I had committed the great crime of making the strength program, we had in the national team, after finishing his (also not very timely.)

How to get through a failure? Sport is often black or white, it´s evident as soon as possible to recover from lows, it is important to constantly look ahead and spend the time periods to develop.

I hope my lectures, can inspire others to avoid making some of the mistakes I have committed. When a young man fail it can be very hard to handle, but those who make it will have most success, and during the years you learn that after the rain comes the sun.
